To refresh it, I suggest to look at life as if it was a circus where death awaits at each turn. > > ![[ATTACHMENTS/QuantumImmortality_gameplay.mov|QuantumImmortality_gameplay]] ## Designs - [[DESIGNS/Quantum_Immortality/A1.jpeg]] - [[DESIGNS/Quantum_Immortality/A2.jpeg]] - [[DESIGNS/Quantum_Immortality/C1.jpeg]] ### Scenes' Flow 0) **Title scene**: "Dare to enter a cage with a lion?" --> Lion's jaws --> "Death is we're not" --> Dissapears, and title fades in --> the title fades out --> the explanation about the quantum button --> if pressed, scene 1 ("Button scene") 1) **Quantum button scene**: - At the start of the 1st scene, there's just a button at the same position as at the 1st scene (it's a panel with grey background) --> it scales to the button at the 1st scene --> panel fades out and reveals the UI - Button pressed --> red face receives a Rigidbody2D and falls --> the related arrow falls as a trigger to fall through the floor --> Life panel appears --> The text of the challenge changes & the text of the survival chance changes --> two new arrows and faces appear --> the button is interactable. 2) **Styx Scene**: Each press on the button - Changes the buttons's sprite (dead / alive faces) - Changes the text at the top panel from "On their way to a new possible world" to "A worm through time got split" / "Time forward!" - Moves the submarine over arrows (MoveTowards with a flag). Arrows a sprites. Over the river of arrows, there're waypoints. --> When the submarine reaches the new waypoint, the button turns active again --> The text turns back to "On the way..." ### Iterations 1) Version 1 (February 2025) 2) Version 2 (March 2026) -- Change the tone from dramatic to enigmatic ### Idea Backlog - At the start of the 1st scene, there's just a button at the same position as at the 1st scene (it's a panel with grey background) --> it scales to the button at the 1st scene --> panel fades out and reveals the UI - LifeDeath panel (1st scene) runs over the screen, upside-down - Particles Effects in water ## Resource **Palette**: https://www.schemecolor.com/green-telephone.php ## Reference - [Weird original resource of this weird thought experiment](https://space.mit.edu/home/tegmark/crazy.html) by Tegmark Max - Criticised by [[Lewis David]]. The Quantum Immortality implies a particular nature of *possibility* that we cannot accept, as we cannot accept that there is a possibility for human to be immortal. - [[Doppelganger|Doppelganger]] -- an omen of death.
